On June 6th 2017, I participated in the Ace Hotel Pittsburgh Artist in Residence program - where they invite artists to stay the night and make art and see what they come up by the next morning.
I checked in at noon and tagged the room until 2 am. I would have stayed up all night, if I didn't have court the next day, ironically enough, for tagging. This was a fun opportunity to celebrate the tag that inspired me to develop my talent for illustration - the same tag that also got me put in jail.
Around this time last year I was awaiting court to find out if I would spend more time in jail - luckily I was only handed a sentencing of $17,000 in restitution, 5 years of probation and 200 hours of community service. Small price to pay for the experiences I've had since and hopefully will continue to have.
Special thanks to Aaron Clark, Mario Josie, Matt Jeselnik and the Pittsburgh Graffiti Task Force Marketing Firm (although jk, fuck the task for real. go catch some actual criminals.)
